Are You Committed to, or Just Wanting, Abundance?

Adrian Webb

How committed are you to achieving your goals?

Wanting or choosing to achieve your goals is not enough.  The definition of the word ‘commit’ is “to devote oneself unreservedly”, meaning to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes.  Failure is not an option.

It is when you are really committed, that the universe supports you 100%.  Most people set goals for themselves, and then when one little obstacle, or a series of little obstacles, knocks them off track, they give up.  Commitment is essential in achieving whatever it is you desire.

Most people claim to be committed, but in reality they place too many conditions on what they are willing to do, to manifest their desires.

They are reluctant to give up their time watching television, or watching the week-end football game, or going down to the pub, or going to the gym, etc. etc. etc.

They are not prepared to make the sacrifices required, in order to achieve the success they desire.  They are not prepared to invest the time to read and learn, or acquire new skills.

When obstacles appear, these people are not sufficiently motivated to persevere in order to overcome these obstacles.  So they give up.

You must give 100% to whatever it is that you want to achieve in your life.

When you are pursuing your true heart’s desires, you will generate the internal motivation and energy needed to overcome all obstacles, and you will do whatever it takes to be successful.

The secret, therefore, is to do what you really, really, want to do.  In other words, follow your passion and your true heart’s desires.

People who have experienced the greatest success, achieved that success because they were 100% committed to their own success, and in every case, they were following their true hearts’ desires.

When you are fully committed, the universe will guide you and support you, and help you attract what you want into your life.  You will attract the people, the resources, the ideas, the opportunities, the events, the energy, and the commitment necessary.

Here’s a great quote that explains this beautifully:

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of
which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.

A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforseen incidents, meetings, and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.”

Colonel Sanders was refused 1,009 times over a two year period, before he found a restaurant which said “yes” to his new chicken recipe.  The rest is history.

Walt Disney was turned down 302 times before he was successful in getting financing for his dream of creating the Disney entertainment empire.  Again, the rest is history.

Thomas Edison failed with many thousands of experimemts before he perfected the electric light bulb.  Once again, the rest is histroy.

“I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward”.  -  Thomas Edison

A CNN executive personally pulled Katie Couric off the air and told her she had no future in television. She went on to become co-host of  NBC’s program The Today Show, and now earns an estimated $10 million a year salary.

Randy Travis was rejected by almost every record company in Nashville before going on to establish himself as a pivotal figure in the history of American country music.  He has recorded 20 studio albums and charted more than 30 singles on the Country Songs charts, 22 of which were number one hits.

Ray Charles was once told by teachers that he couldn’t play the piano, yet he went on to become one of the greatest American musicians of all time.

Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen created the #1 best-selling book series, “Chicken Soup for the Soul” after being rejected by publishers 144 times.

What all of these people had in common was they were following their passion, stayed true to their intention, were committed, and took persistent action toward their dreams, until they were successful.  Nothing was ever going to stop them!
