Most people seem to struggle through life simply reacting to events around them, oblivious to the fact that they help to create those events. Like a ship tossed at sea, they see themselves buffeted by external circumstances, a tiny object subject to the whims of chance.
But here is the reality…
While I agree many people have been born as victims of circumstances, I don’t believe they have to STAY that way. Often we do not have a choice about being victimized, but we do have a choice about STAYING that way, and using it as our excuse not to live the life we desire.
Are there any areas in your own life where you feel you have been living at the victim level of awareness. Having that knowledge is the first step to freedom.
When you have a conscious awareness of what’s really going on, you have choice, because you can choose to think and behave differently, and, therefore, you can have more control over your life and what happens to you.
Your predominant thinking determines the kind of life you experience. Your consistent thoughts have brought you to where you are in your life right now.
If you keep thinking what you have been thinking, and you keep believing what you have been believing, and you keep doing what you have been doing, up until now, then … you will keep on getting similar results.
The same kind of people will keep showng up in your life, the same kind of situations will keep on arising, similar problems, or opportunities, will keep popping up in your life. If your predominant thinking has consistently brought you good results, then you will continue to experience a good life. If your predominant thinking has consistently resulted in struggle, then you will continue to struggle.
The point is, you are, generally, responsible for what happens to you. You may insist that you did not want or expect the unfortunate things that may have happened to you. However, on some level, you have attracted them into your life, usually subconsciously because of limiting beliefs that were not in harmony with what you consciously wanted to happen.
You do not have to continue feeling that you are a victim of circumstances. You are free, at any time, to break free of being a victim, and take complete control of your future destiny.
Unlike most people who believe they are victims and have no choice, you know that you can move up through the different levels of awareness, through to the level of conscious choice. This means that no matter what happens to you, you never have to remain a victim.
It is like being locked up in a prison cell, but the key is in the door. All you have to do is turn the key and you are free. You are only a prisoner if you choose to be a prisoner. You are only a victim if you choose to remain a victim.
If you ask people why they are not rich they will come up with dozens of “reasons” why they cannot seem to break through the barrier of struggle and survival to achieve riches.
Whether you believe it or not, the masses have chosen poverty, regardless of the fact that they wish they had abundance.
Creating struggle is simply another way to hold onto being a victim. We create struggle because it allows us to have an excuse for not having what we want. It also allows us to lie to ourselves. It is a built-in validation for a life of mediocrity.
Here’s the good news. If you have used your thoughts to create difficulty, struggle and suffering, there is nothing to stop you from creating riches and happiness
in your life right NOW.
The solution is simple. Just reverse your thoughts and actions. Think the opposite of what you have been thinking, and do the opposite of what you have been doing and
you are virtually guaranteed to succeed!
Do not buy into all this doom and gloom around us right now.
Yes, many people working in financial services in Wall Street and London, along with big corporations, and collective governments, on both sides of the Atlantic, in other words, many people in positions of power, have let us all down badly by their reckless behaviour. It is easy to feel a victim, and hundreds of millions of people probably feel victims right now, because their lives have been devastated over the past three years, and it was not their fault.
However, every one of us has the personal power within us to turn our lives around, when we no longer stay in that dark place of feeling that we are a victim. Accept responsibility for your own life, for your own future. Accepting responsibility for your own destiny is the first step. When you feel responsible, you have greater awareness of how changing your predominant thinking, and your predominant behaviour, brings you the results and the kind of life you want.
Remember this fact: greater awareness brings choice and, therefore, control.
